    I really feel for you. Wondered if you have ever tried going sulfite free. Sulfites are in most foods (to preserve, bleach, anti clumping), sprayed on fruits eg:grapes and veges eg:potatoes - to prevent browning, smoke, the combustion of fossil fuels, your body turns sulfur containing amino acids eg:methionine into sulfites before Sulfur oxidase an enzyme present in tissue oxidizes them to sulfates that are safe. Sulfur oxidase needs molybdenum and molybdenum needs heme iron and vitamin C to function. Heme iron is found in animal meats especially high in organ meats like liver. Other areas of your body need molybdenum (+ heme iron). Its needed to process alcohol(aldehyde oxidase), tea, coffee, chocolate (xanthine oxidase), mARC and nitrites (present naturally in potatoes). In Australia they do not need to state there is sulfites in a product unless it contains above 10ppm. Problem is that it is in so much that you could slowly build up past the recommended amount. Saccharomyces cerevisiae (bakers yeast) can produce sulfites through fermentation and also alcohol. My son has an allergy/intolerance to sulfites. He can get flushing in the face, cough, wheeze, trouble breathing, fatigue, low muscle tone, racing heart beat, hives, face swelling, eczema, hayfever symptoms. You said you were loosing hair sulfur is involved in hair, teeth, nails, skin in the body. Maybe you have an issue processing sulfites or have a defiency in something that supports methylation. If methionine is not processed your body converts this to homocystiene if you have too much homocystiene this can be linked with glucoma (pressure in eyes-loss of sight), high blood pressure, dementia, alzheimers. Folate is needed for both methylation and xanthine oxidase. My son has honey and fruit to sweeten things (i peel everything just in case it has been sprayed), baking powder has sulfites (i use bicarb + lemon juice). Eating whole foods helps with exceptions. I use wholegrain wheat and grind it myself to make sure it has not been bleached or had anti clumping sulfites added. Plus using the whole grain gives more folate needed in methylation. hope this helps you.
